Established in 1993 to focus on shower repair realising that many perfectly good showers were being consigned to the scrap heap. Often the average plumber or electrician had little knowledge of how they worked or had difficulty locating and obtaining spare parts. The Shower Doctor was started to remedy this and since then has grown into a multi-million pound turn over business, satisfying customer the length and breadth of the country and more recently overseas.

A solution, apart from the rest

Etellect, drawing on its experience in the development of bespoke shopping cart solutions, designed and implemented a spare part search function and parent / part viewing platform. The website required to support many different manufacturers and product configurations with over 50,000 spare parts requiring to be readily queried by the customer. Etellect worked closely with The Shower Doctor to develop a simple to use mechanism for them to manage the stock and product pricing information that required to be updated frequently.

The recent move to eAutomate is a considerable step, replacing the entire back office function with a fully integrated, connected solution. Stock control, warehouse management, shipping, call centre operations, multi-channel sales, picking and packing have all been re-engineered to become automated and integrated with a singular aim, to improve and enhance the customer experience.

The Shower Doctor approached Etellect in 2008, having outgrown then existing website. Their website was struggling to cope with the complexity of the shower parts being stocked and it became clear that a more bespoke solution would be required in order to grow the business further. The accounting system was also feeling the strain and there was a considerable amount of data re-entry required to manage customer orders.

As the business grew we bought a number of software packages to do different things. Every one was guaranteed to speak to the next one but of course, they didn't.
